FBI Agents Search Pentagon
WASHINGTON — The FBI served search warrants today at the Pentagon and at locations in 12 states in a nationwide criminal investigation of alleged fraud in defense contracting, the bureau said.
The inquiry conducted by the FBI and the Naval Investigative Service has been under way for more than two years and involves “allegations of fraud and bribery on the part of defense contractors, consultants and U.S. government employees,” said FBI spokesman Gregory Jones. Besides the Pentagon, the warrants were served at locations in Ohio, Arkansas, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, California, Maryland, Florida, Connecticut, Texas, Missouri, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
