Local News in Brief : Hahn to Undergo Surgery
Los Angeles County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn was hospitalized Monday because of an enlarged prostate and will undergo surgery Wednesday, his aides said.
The 67-year-old supervisor, who canceled an early-morning press conference after suffering discomfort over the weekend, is expected to rejoin the supervisors for their July 5 meeting, according to Dan Wolf, Hahn’s press deputy.
Hahn, who has remained partially paralyzed since suffering a major stroke early last year, is expected to be hospitalized for up to five days, Wolf said.
Enlargement of the prostate is a common problem for men over 60, Wolf noted, adding that the surgery planned for Hahn is similar to that performed on President Reagan last year.
