Pasadena : Time Capsule Donated
The city’s Towards 2000 Committee, which was established two years ago to help implement programs to improve life in Pasadena, made a final gift of a time capsule to the city moments before the panel was dissolved.
The time capsule is inside a new, handcrafted oak podium presented to the Board of Directors last week.
Rick Phelps, chairman of the committee, said the time capsule will be filled with videotapes of the committee’s discussions on the future of the city, photographs and one of the many banners that now fly above Colorado Boulevard.
The time capsule will be opened in the year 2000.
The projects that the committee helped bring to life over the past two years include a child-care plan for the city and a plan to transform Devils Gate Dam into a recreation area.
