Local News in Brief : Council Approves 7.5% Boost in Water Rates
The Glendale City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a 7.5% increase in water rates for homes and businesses.
The increase marks the first hike in water bills in four years and will be used to pay for increased maintenance costs and for capital improvements to the water system, said George A. Miller, Glendale director of public works.
The increase will average about $1.60 a month for the average single-family home, Miller said.
