Local News in Brief : Satellite Traffic Court OKd
A satellite traffic court that will enable Carson residents to settle traffic offenses without going to Compton is scheduled to begin operations within six months.
The Carson City Council approved a three-year lease for the court, which will be located in the former J. C. Penney Auto Center building, 840 E. Del Amo Blvd.
Under an agreement with court officials, the city will pay the rent on the facility and buy furnishings. The court system will operate the facility, pay for personnel and install data lines and telephones.
City officials began looking into a court facility in Carson last year after residents complained of security problems and lines at the Compton facility.
