A construction worker has been arrested in Riviera Beach, Fla., in the June 3 robbery shooting death of former National Hockey League player Brian Spencer.
Leon (Lump) Daniels, 24, was arrested after a friend called police and said that Daniels wanted to give himself up. Daniels was charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.
Spencer was shot after a companion, Gregory Cook, pulled his pickup truck over to the side of a road after buying crack, a form of cocaine. Cook told police that a few minutes later someone walked up and demanded money. Spencer refused and was shot once in the heart.
