Local News in Brief : Boy Critical After Fire
A 2-year-old boy suffered burns over 90% of his body when someone threw an explosive device through the window of his family’s South-Central Los Angeles home early Monday, touching off a fire.
Fire officials said the blaze broke out at 12:09 a.m. after a Molotov cocktail was thrown into the home at 122 E. 120th St. The fire, which caused an estimated $20,000 in property damage, was brought under control 15 minutes later.
The boy, whose identity was withheld, was being treated at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. Hospital officials said his condition is “extremely critical.”
