“Leonard, Part 6.” RCA/Columbia. $89.95. 1987. PG. This misguided secret-agent spoof showed that even Bill Cosby can make a mistake. A big one. But his huge TV audience may be more likely to rent the video than it was to visit theaters.
“Housekeeping.” RCA/Columbia. $79.95. 1987. PG. The first film to be thoroughly made and set in the United States by Bill Forsyth, a Scottish genius of wry comedy (“Local Hero”) who aimed for a darker tone in this tale of an eccentric woman who cares for two nieces.
“Bonjour Tristesse.” RCA/Columbia. $69.95. 1958. Otto Preminger tear-jerker from Francoise Sagan novel and featuring Jean Seberg, David Niven and Deborah Kerr.
“Hamlet.” RCA/Columbia. $69.95. 1969. Not to be confused with the Laurence Olivier version (a recent surprise best-selling video release), this is the Tony Richardson film that stars Nicol Williamson as the gloomy great Dane.
“Dark Eyes.” CBS/Fox. $79.98. 1987. Bittersweet humor and romance in film derived from Chekov short stories. Marcello Mastroianni stars.
“One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich.” Sony. $79.95. 1971. G. Tom Courtenay as prisoner in Siberia.
