A man fleeing police at speeds over 100 m.p.h. on a stolen motorcycle was killed Monday when he fell and was hit by an oncoming vehicle, police said Tuesday.
The unidentified man was fleeing National City police, who lost sight of him, around 3:30 p.m. Monday at 30th Street and Highland Avenue in National City, Chula Vista police spokesman Doug Packwood said.
The man lost control of the motorcycle in the 600 block of Otay Valley Road, fell, cartwheeled over an oncoming truck, and was struck by another vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Packwood said.
