Fleischmann Fans
In regard to “The Philharmonic’s Once and Forever King” (July 10) and the July 17 letters criticizing Ernest Fleischmann:
As one who has worked part-time for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Assn. box office for 50 years and under Ernest Fleischmann’s leadership for the past 20 years, I can assure you that of all the executive directors I saw come and go, combined, cannot approach Fleischmann’s immense contribution to the Philharmonic’s growth.
Mr. Fleischmann is a genius in his field--and geniuses seldom win popularity contests.
