If you’re planning to see Fox’s “Young Guns”--the Emilio Estevez/Charlie Sheen/Kiefer Sutherland/Lou Diamond Phillips Western opening Aug. 12--you’d better skip the cover story in Premiere.
Premiere gives away the ending, with four photos detailing Sheen’s ultimate fate--and the film makers are unhappy about it.
“It’s stupid to reveal such an important plot point like that,” Sheen told us. “Nobody from the magazine told me they were going to show the scene or I wouldn’t have done the story (interview).”
Added a spokesman for the producing Morgan Creek Films, “Nobody at the magazine even consulted us about this. It shows a lack of sensitivity on Premiere’s part.”
Exec co-editor Peter Biskind said the mag has no policy about revealing major plot points: “It’s a judgment call that should be decided on a film-by-film basis.” He suggested Premiere may have made a mistake and might catch some flak after the film opens.
