Bell High Student Wins Top Award
Bernardo Frias, a student at Bell High School, won first place in the high school architectural drawing contest sponsored by the Greater Los Angeles Area chapter of the Building Industry Assn. and Chandler Lumber Co. Frias’ prizes included a $1,000 scholarship.
Second-place winner was Alex Martinez of Reseda High School, and third place was taken by Ki Kyun Kim, also of Reseda. Ray Calderon, Bell High School instructor, was named Instructor of the Year.
Other trophy winners and their schools were: Minoo Shahmirzad, Canoga Park; Mark Baldwin, Cleveland; Carlos Franciso, U.S. Grant and Oliver Thomas, South Gate.
