CBS News anchor Dan Rather has won the hearts and minds of our neighbors to the north, rather than ABC News’ Canadian-born Peter Jennings, according to poll results released by CBS this week. Rather was judged the most trustworthy anchorman by Canadian TV viewers, beating out Jennings, NBC’s Tom Brokaw and three Canadian broadcasters, according to the 3rd Annual TV Guide Canada reader poll, scheduled to be released in Aug. 27 issues.
