Local News in Brief : Santa Ana : Brawl in Bar Ends With Man Mortally Wounded
An unidentified Latino man died of gunshot wounds Tuesday morning after a brawl in a Santa Ana bar, police said.
The victim got into an argument with another man about 12:30 a.m. at Maggie’s Bar, 2100 S. Bristol St., according to Maureen Thomas, a police spokeswoman.
The second man “hit the victim over the head with a beer bottle” and shot him several times with a small-caliber handgun before running from the bar, Thomas said.
The victim was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center with gunshot wounds to the chest, stomach and shoulder. He died about 8 a.m.
Police have no suspect in the killing, Thomas said.
