Kudos for Service
A couple of weeks ago I called the Times regarding the article, “Opera Cruise by Steamboat Down the Mississippi” by Martin Bernheimer (May 22). I was directly connected to Mr. Bernheimer’s office, his secretary answered and efficiently explained that she had to have Mr. Bernheimer call me back so that I could get the information I was seeking. He called me back later the same day.
Now that is what we call excellent customer service, especially in a time when many businesses have you wait and wait and wait on the phone, playing music, running recordings over and over again or telling you to dial 1 for one kind of information, dial 2 for another, etc., and in the end the machine disconnects you without your having had the chance to say a word.
I compliment your establishment for your good business habits. Keep up the good work.
