2 Libraries Expand Services for Elderly
The Torrance and Inglewood Public Libraries have expanded services to older adults, using funds obtained through the Federal Library Services and Construction Act and administered by the California State Library.
The Inglewood Library has acquired a collection of books in large print on subjects of interest to senior citizens. The collection is located near the information desk on the second floor of the main library, 101 W. Manchester Blvd., Inglewood. For information, call 412-5499.
The El Retiro Library branch of the Torrance Public Library has purchased books, magazines and other materials on subjects of particular interest to those over 65. Books on audio-cassettes are available. Library patrons will receive plastic book bags imprinted with the program’s slogan, “Growing older? Turn to your library.” The El Retiro Library is located at 126 Vista del Parque, Torrance. For information, call 375-0922.
