Santa Monica : Discussion of Building Plan
Residents from the Pico and Sunset Park neighborhoods will meet tonight to discuss a 64,000-square-foot project proposed for the northeast corner of Pico and Cloverfield boulevards.
The meeting will convene at 7 p.m. at Grant Elementary School, 2368 Pearl St.
Plans for the building include space for retail stores, restaurants and a grocery store. The property is owned by the Schurgin Development Corp.
Neighbors fear the project will add traffic to an already congested area.
A draft environmental impact report has been prepared by the city and is available for public comment until Oct. 1. Officials at the city’s Planning Department said they expect the project to go before the Planning Commission by early November.
