LESS CRIME IN THE CITIES

According the the California Attorney General’s office, Orange County’s cities were the scene of 1,283 fewer serious crimes in 1987 than in 1986. The California Crime Index* dropped from 53,085 acts to 51,802, a decrease of 1.2 in the rate per thousand city residents. Here are the results from each city, listed in order of the 1987 rate per thousand residents, from best to worst:
