Valley Tailback Receives Accolade

Valley College tailback Roman Carter was named Western State Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Santa Barbara on Saturday.

Carter, a redshirt freshman from Kennedy High, rushed for 131 yards in 28 carries and scored 3 touchdowns as Valley (1-1 overall, 1-0 in conference play) defeated Santa Barbara, 27-17.

Carter is second in the WSC in rushing with 221 yards behind Larry Roberts of Moorpark (226). Carter and Roberts each have 4 touchdowns are tied for the scoring lead with 24 points.
