Alaska Airlines has filed an application with the Transportation Department for authority to provide service between cities in Mexico and four California cities. The Mexican cities are Loreto, La Paz, Los Cabos, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Manzanillo, Zihuatanejo, Acapulco, Huatulco and Mexico City. The carrier said it has requested route authority to provide service between all the Mexican cities and Los Angeles, San Jose and Oakland, and it applied to link the cities--with the exception of Loreto, La Paz and Los Cabos--with San Francisco.
