Local News in Brief : Garden Grove : Man Fatally Shot After Shoving Match
A 29-year-old man was killed early Thursday after he apparently got into a shoving match with two other men in a restaurant parking lot, authorities said.
Phat Tan Quach of Westminster was shot in the head outside the Tu-Hai Restaurant in the 14200 block of Brookhurst Street about 1 a.m., Garden Grove Police Lt. Ken Adair said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police that Phat and two unidentified men began an argument inside the restaurant that escalated outside, Adair said. Phat reportedly pushed one of the men, who produced a handgun and shot him in the head.
Adair said authorities have not determined what started the argument. The two suspects fled in a car that was later recovered in Santa Ana. No arrests have been made, Adair said, and an investigation is continuing.
