Santa Ynez 28, Calabasas 12--Running back Jeff Ward rushed for a game-high 85 yards in 14 carries and scored on runs of 1 and 8 yards to lead Santa Ynez in a league opener at Calabasas.
Calabasas defensive back Damon Riggins returned an interception 99 yards for the Coyotes’ first touchdown with 7 minutes to play.
Calabasas quarterback David Kalman completed 9 of 23 for 129 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown to wide receiver Brett Resnick with a minute remaining.
