Sale of Canyon Land for Freeway Corridor
We are appalled to read front-page newspaper articles wherein (Laguna Beach City Manager) Ken Frank bemoans the loss of money from the city’s potential sale of Laguna Canyon open space for the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor. Village Laguna bemoans the potential loss of Laguna Canyon. Apart from Frank’s environmental insensitivity, what kind of city manager spends money before he has it?
We think Ken Frank’s views are out of step with the prevailing sentiment of Laguna Beach.
As Neil Fitzpatrick and Martha Collison said recently at a candidates’ forum, the city manager does what the City Council tells him to do.
The City Council should tell him to use all lawful means to avoid the sale of Laguna Canyon open space to the county.
