More than 50 opponents of abortion were arrested outside a clinic in Indianapolis after demonstrators tried to block women from entering, authorities said. In Jackson, Miss., meanwhile, about 75 abortion protesters chanted, prayed and held signs in front of three clinics where abortions are performed, but police said the protest was peaceful. And in Atlanta, scene of three months of anti-abortion demonstrations, of the 463 persons arrested outside four clinics earlier this month, only seven remained in jail over the weekend, officials said. Indianapolis police said the demonstration there was peaceful. Some 150 to 200 protesters sat in front of the entrance to a clinic, locked arms and sang. Police asked them to leave and, when they refused, carried them to a nearby area, where they were arrested.
