Brazil, Soviets Sign Space, Trade Pact

MOSCOW — Brazilian President Jose Sarney flew to Leningrad on Thursday after the signing of agreements that include cooperation in the exploration of outer space and expansion of trade, the Tass news agency reported.
Sarney, the first Brazilian head of state to visit the Soviet Union, arrived Monday for a five-day visit. He met with Soviet President Mikhail S. Gorbachev for three hours Tuesday and again Wednesday morning.
The two countries also agreed to establish an exchange of consulates in Rio de Janeiro and Leningrad.
