Burroughs (Ridgecrest) 29, Saugus 15--Maurice McDowell returned a blocked punt 43 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with 2:39 left in the third quarter at College of the Canyons.
Quarterback George Lopata scored the first 2 Saugus touchdowns on runs of 1 and 2 yards, giving the Centurions a 15-14 halftime lead. In the third quarter, Lopata (5 of 10 for 70 yards) suffered a separated right shoulder. Brandon King of Saugus (0-6-1, 0-2) rushed for a game-high 140 yards in 20 carries.
McDowell led Burroughs (4-3, 1-1) with 89 yards in 18 carries.
