What About Kids?
This week we attended Mission Bay High School’s open house. The parents were greeted by bright, committed teachers working in a pathetic environment. This school has many needs. One is of the maintenance type. Another involves an advanced math class that has 46 students. The teacher explained that this is the only pre-calculus class offered. Next year, this will be the calculus class.
Yesterday’s mail brought an invitation to donate private funds to help meet the many needs of the students.
Why is it that every special interest group, from Super Bowl, America’s Cup, art exhibits, etc., can find support and funding? Why is it the kids always have to go begging?
In America’s Finest City, is greed ever going to be replaced by honest values? Shame on you, City Council, and shame on our civic leaders who allow this to happen.
