Asian Guilty in Drug Sting Deaths
A suspected heroin dealer was convicted today on two counts of first-degree murder for being an accomplice in the shooting deaths of two undercover federal drug agents during an ill-fated sting operation.
Michael Su Chia, 20, a Taiwanese national, was also convicted by a Pasadena Superior Court jury of the attempted murder of a third federal Drug Enforcement Administration agent, robbing all three agents and conspiring to rob them. His trial lasted about three weeks. Chia, who resided in the San Gabriel Valley, is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 21 and faces 25 years to life for each murder conviction.
