Hannah Tillich; Author and Wife of Theologian

Hannah Tillich, 92, whose book about her life with her husband, renowned theologian Paul Tillich, scandalized his colleagues. Tillich’s “From Time to Time” recounted her life from the time she and her husband, who died in 1965, met in Berlin in the 1920s and included candid recollections about his extramarital affairs and the author’s own sexual encounters. The book upset colleagues and alienated some of the couple’s relatives for years. Mrs. Tillich also wrote “From Place to Place: Travels With Paul Tillich,” “Travels Without Paul Tillich” and a novel, “Harbor Mouse.” In New York on Oct. 27.
