Golden West Loses Water Polo Final, 17-14
Long Beach City College defeated Golden West, 17-14, to win the South Coast Conference water polo championship Saturday at Belmont Plaza pool in Long Beach.
Golden West rallied to tie the score at 13-13 with 2:39 left, but Reggie Torres, Jean Lalonde and Nathan Wobrock then scored for Long Beach. Torres had 6 goals and Lalonde and Frank Kalfounhn had 4 apiece.
Steve Kidder had 5 goals, Ky Tran 4 and Jeff Wines 3 for Golden West (23-4).
