Montclair Prep, Oak Park to Accent Ground Game

Two of the area’s finest running backs will be featured when Montclair Prep and Oak Park meet in a Southern Section Division IX playoff game at Pierce College at 7:30 tonight. One is already in top form; the other, coming off an injury, is just regaining his.

Michael Jones of Montclair Prep (6-4) has rushed for 178, 249 and 219 yards in his past 3 games. Jones, a junior, rushed for 1,355 yards and 16 touchdowns in 191 carries during the regular season, a 7.1 average.

Oak Park (9-1) is led by senior tailback Jason Stein. Stein missed 2 1/2 games because of a knee injury before returning last week against Moorpark and running for 118 yards in 12 carries.
