Henigan Named the Top Player in Sunset League
Quarterback David Henigan of Fountain Valley High School, who passed for 2,302 yards and 17 touchdowns in 10 games, was named the most valuable player of the Sunset League for the second consecutive season in a vote of the league’s coaches.
Fountain Valley tailback Kedric Powe, who rushed for 1,001 yards and 14 touchdowns, was named the league’s offensive player of the year. Edison linebacker Kevin Roberts was named the defensive player of the year.
Mike Milner of Fountain Valley was named the coach of the year. Milner led the Barons to their second consecutive league title with a 5-0 record. Fountain Valley dominated the team with 13 first-team selections.
