Two Marine Corps sergeants will be court-martialed next month at Camp Lejeune, N.C., in the death of Lance Cpl. Jason Rothers, who was left behind during a Mojave Desert training exercise Aug. 30. Rothers, of Minneapolis, was posted as a road guide to direct vehicles near Twentynine Palms and was not discovered missing until a day and a half later. His body was found early this month. Court-martial for Sgt. Christopher Clyde is expected to begin Jan. 10. Sgt. Thomas Turnell’s court-martial is to begin Jan. 24. Also, said a Marine spokesman, a hearing has been scheduled Wednesday for charges against Lt. Allen Lawson, the officer in charge of placing Rothers and other guards along the road.
