Local News in Brief : Truck With Poison Gases Aboard Found
A fumigation company truck, whose theft had prompted a warning from Los Angeles police Thursday that the vehicle was loaded with tanks containing poisonous gases, was found abandoned late in the day.
The two-ton, open-bed Fume Masters truck, with a white cab and the company’s name printed on both doors in orange lettering, was stolen Wednesday afternoon while it was parked in an alley behind 1036 S. Bonnie Brae St., Detective Dan Torres said. It was found near Pico Boulevard and Valencia Street.
In the bed of the truck were three tanks containing gases used in fumigation. Torres said the gases could be extremely dangerous if inhaled or if they come into contact with eyes or skin. Nothing on the truck appeared damaged.
