Anaheim city officials met Thursday with a private investor group and settled on two sites for a proposed $50-million sports arena they hope will attract a National Basketball Assn. franchise by the 1991 season.
One is a 20-acre downtown site on city redevelopment property, and the other is a 15-acre site located near Anaheim Stadium, according to Jim Ruth, assistant city manager.
Last year, the NBA rejected Anaheim’s bid for an expansion team, largely because no suitable arena was available.
