Orange : Man Found Shot Dead, Woman Critically Hurt

A man was killed and a woman critically wounded Monday night in what police believe was a case of attempted murder and suicide.
Police Sgt. Timm Brown said officers were notified that a man was down at the entrance of an apartment complex at 700 W. La Veta Ave. When police arrived they found the body of an unidentified man with a gunshot wound in his chest.
Nearby, police found a 21-year-old woman with a gunshot wound in the upper body. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she underwent surgery. Her name was not released pending notification of family.
Police believe that the unidentified man shot the woman and then himself. Officers said they found a weapon on the man.
The shootings occurred at 7:30 p.m.
