AIA’s Los Angeles Chapter Will Seat Its First Latino President
Fernando Juarez will be installed today as the first Latino president of the American Institute of Architects’ Los Angeles chapter.
Juarez is president of Los Angeles-based Fernando Juarez & Associates Inc., an architectural firm he formed in 1970.
Raymond L. Gaio of GAIO will be installed as chapter vice president. William H. Fain Jr. of Johnson Fain & Pereira Associates will be installed as the group’s new treasurer, and Ronald L. Altoon of Altoon & Porter, secretary.
The dinner installation, which will begin at 7 p.m., will be held at the Los Angeles Music Center. Keynote speaker will be Sam Hall Kaplan, architecture critic for The Times.
