John Campbell, president and chief executive officer of Irvine-based Campbell Automotive Group, has been named one of 1988’s top 10 newsmakers by Automotive News, a trade publication.
Campbell Automotive, owner of seven dealerships and two paint and body shops in the county, joined in a partnership last year with Lex Service PLC, a British automotive retailer. At the time, Campbell Automotive said the deal made it the first U.S. dealer with public ownership.
