The University of Oklahoma’s interim president said that the university is concerned about the school’s football program.
“It has become apparent there are very significant problems in the football program . . . “ said David Swank.
In December, the NCAA put the program on probation for 3 years, prohibiting the team from bowl games for 2 years and live television appearances for a year.
Two weeks ago, starting cornerback Jerry Parks was suspended from the team and the school after a shooting in an athletic dormitory. Parks is accused of shooting with intent to injure teammate Zarak Peters.
The university also announced that officials from the school and the Cleveland County district attorney’s office are investigating allegations of a possible sexual assault last weekend at an athletic dormitory.
