1 Dead, 1 Injured in Shoot-Out at Placentia Bar
A shoot-out between two men at a Placentia bar left one of them dead and the other seriously wounded, authorities said Saturday.
Police said the shooting occurred at 11:53 p.m. Friday at the Azteca Bar at 310 W. Santa Fe Ave.
Police dispatcher Deanne Gisler said Jose Camarena, 23, of Fullerton was shot once in the side and was found in an alley by the bar. He died after undergoing surgery at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana.
Gisler said Evarardo Morales, 26, of El Monte also was wounded in the shoot-out. He was found inside the bar with a bullet wound to his head and was taken to UCI Medical Center, where he was in critical condition.
Gisler said a preliminary investigation showed that the two men shot each other. She said two handguns were recovered at the scene.
