Local : Seal Beach Crash Closes Freeway
All lanes of the San Diego Freeway southbound shut down this morning after a tractor-trailer and car collided in Seal Beach, setting a car afire.
California Highway Patrol Officer Bill Jacques said a Camaro sideswiped the rear of the tractor-trailer as it entered the southbound San Diego Freeway from the San Gabriel River Freeway at 5:45 a.m. The 65-foot truck swerved across three lanes and collided with a Corvette, which was crushed beneath its front end. The Corvette driver escaped the fire but suffered a six-inch gash on his head that required 30 stitches.
