Banning Gay Speakers at Corona del Mar High School
Your coverage of the issue of gay speakers at Corona del Mar High School (Jan. 26) was one of the sloppiest, most biased pieces of journalism ever to come out of The Times. There, in black and white, was The Times’ shrill bias toward homosexual rights all over again. There were some 70 parents to be interviewed for the story who could have presented sound reasoning why a high school teacher should not be presenting sodomy as a neutral issue.
Your interview was carefully selected to present only the view that “they should keep that stuff out.” And for the other side? Oh, very carefully worded arguments by teacher Mike Marino, some students and a parent who felt that they should allow such presentations. Frankly, I would like to hear from the other parents who opposed the presentations. But, of course, The Times has its ‘mission’, doesn’t it?
