Women’s Basketball Roundup : Matyuch Leads Titans Past Fresno
Junior forward Jill Matyuch hit a three-pointer with 46 seconds left to lift Cal State Fullerton’s women’s basketball team to a 61-59 Big West Conference victory over Fresno State Saturday at Fresno.
Fresno’s Mary Gainey was fouled with 2 seconds left, but missed both free throws.
The Titans won their sixth game in a row to improve to 18-4 overall, 10-3 in conference. Fresno State is 14-9, 5-7.
In the California Collegiate Athletic Assn.:
Chapman 86, UC Riverside 71--Julie King scored 20 points, 14 in the second half, to lead the Panthers (11-11, 6-3) at Riverside (7-16 and 2-7).
In the Golden State Athletic Conference:
Southern California College 64, Christ College Irvine 52--Lori Halliday had 16 points and Stacey Mounce added 11 and Nora Menken 10 for host SCC.
