Foreman Scores TKO in Third Round
ORLANDO, Fla. — Former world heavyweight champion George Foreman continued his comeback Thursday night by scoring a third-round technical knockout over Manuel Clay De Almeida.
Foreman, 40, wore down De Almeida (16-9-3) with body punches until referee Max Parker stopped the scheduled 10-round bout 2:14 into the third round.
“I’ve showed what a 40-year-old man can do,” Foreman said. “It’s time to fight Mike Tyson. That’s what I’m back in boxing for.”
Foreman (60-2) was beaten by Muhammad Ali in 1974 and Jimmy Young in 1977 before a 10-year retirement. Since returning, he is 16-0, all by knockout or TKO.
