LOCAL : Burbank Voting on School Board, Council, Treasurer, City Clerk Posts
Burbank voters are going to the polls today to make their choices for City Council, board of education, treasurer and city clerk.
Also on the ballot is an ordinance that would place limits and restrictions on new residential development throughout the city.
Three seats are up for grabs on the five-member City Council. The 14 candidates running for council include three incumbents--Mayor Al F. Dossin, Michael R. Hastings and Mary E. Kelsey--all seeking second four-year terms.
Four candidates are competing for two seats on the five-member board of education. Board President Audrey P. Hanson is seeking her third term, and Vice President Vivian Kaufman is seeking her second term.
City Treasurer Jack Whitney is defending his seat against three challengers. City Clerk Merle Woodburn is running unopposed.
Polls remain open until 7 p.m.
