Southeast Area : Annual Easter Parade to March Through 3 Cities
The neighboring cities of Maywood, Bell and Cudahy will co-sponsor the third annual Easter parade on Saturday afternoon. The hourlong Tri-City Parade will begin at 3 p.m. and stretch along a three-mile segment of Atlantic Boulevard, beginning at 55th Street in Maywood and ending at Santa Ana Street in Cudahy.
The grand marshal will be disc jockey Humberto Luna of Spanish radio station KTNQ-AM. Other celebrities scheduled to participate include KTLA-TV weekend anchorwoman Minerva Perez, actress Carmen Zapata, ex-Dodger Wes Parker, three Los Angeles Clippers players Joe Wolf, Tom Garrick and Greg Kite and KRLA-AM personalities Val Valentine, Manny Pacheco and Dick (Huggy Boy) Hugg.
Rep. Matthew G. Martinez (D-Monterey Park), Assemblywoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Los Angeles), Los Angeles City Council President John Ferraro and Los Angeles Unified School District board member Leticia Quezada are also expected to ride in the parade, officials said.
The parade will include equestrian teams, local high school marching bands and floats carrying the beauty queens for each of the cities. A free concert at 6 p.m. and fireworks show at 8 are scheduled at the Bell High School football field.
