NASCAR Event at Saugus Speedway Postponed by Rain
The Miller 125 at Saugus Speedway, the opening event of the 20-race NASCAR All-American Challenge Series Southwest Tour, was postponed Saturday because of inclement weather. The race will be rescheduled for an unspecified date.
Other events postponed or canceled by rain Saturday included the opening round of the 16-team St. Paul Easter baseball tournament, which has been moved to Monday.
Crespi High will play at St. Bernard at 3 p.m. Monday and three games will be played at Blair Field in Long Beach: St. Genevieve vs. Alemany at 10 a.m., Chaminade vs. Loyola at 4 p.m. and Notre Dame vs. St. John Bosco at 7 p.m.
But a nonconference college baseball game between Glendale and MiraCosta likely will not be rescheduled, Glendale Coach Steve Coots said. A NAIA District 3 doubleheader between Cal Lutheran and Point Loma Nazarene has been rescheduled for Monday at noon at Cal Lutheran.
A California Collegiate Athletic Assn. baseball game between Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Cal State Northridge will be rescheduled for an unspecified date.
And a CCAA softball doubleheader between Cal Poly SLO and CSUN has been rescheduled for April 23 at CSUN.
