MAYORAL RACE
Mayor Tom Bradley will be doing a lot of walking today. He starts off touring a Fedco store and a Century City shopping center, winding up precinct walking at the corner of Alfred Street and Olympic Boulevard. at 2 p.m. On Sunday, the mayor will start his day with a menudo breakfast with community leaders at the El Paseo restaurant; the Challengers Boys and Girls Club will attend a block party with the mayor that will be hosted by Councilman Gilbert Lindsay; Mothers for Peace will march with the mayor at 3 p.m. beginning at South Park Elementary School. He will end his day with a Harbor Labor Rally & Fiesta at the Seafarers International Hall in Wilmington.
CITY COUNCIL RACES
Ron Rich, businessman, auto dealer and 3rd District candidate holds a $25-per-person fund-raiser at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Country Club, 18415 Sherman Way, Reseda.
Councilwoman Joy Picus has received the endorsements of the League of Conservation Voters, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME, Council 36) and the Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Officers Assn.
The Lake View Terrace Improvement Assn. sponsors a 7th District candidates’ forum Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Lake View Terrace Recreational Center, 11075 Foothill Blvd.
Lyle Hall, a firefighter, community activist and 7th District candidate will go on a 10-mile bike ride through the district Sunday at 9 a.m. Juice and coffee will be served before the ride begins at Hall’s campaign headquarters, 13903 Foothill Blvd., Suite B, Sylmar.
Bernie Lohr-Schmidt, attorney and 13th District candidate, has received the endorsement of the Laurel Hills Homeowners Assn., which represents about 250 families living in an area of the Hollywood Hills.
CITY CONTROLLER
Candidate Ray Bishop will hold a $25-per-person, two-drink-minimum fund-raiser Monday at 8:30 p.m. at his Los Angeles Cabaret Comedy Club, 17271 Ventura Blvd., Encino.
BALLOT MEASURES
Mayor Tom Bradley will hold a 9 a.m. press conference Monday endorsing Proposition 3, a bond measure that would provide money to make old, low-income housing earthquake safe and provide shelters for the homeless.
