Local News in Brief : Bus Service Favored in New RTD Survey
More than half of nearly 1,700 people surveyed believe money should be put into improving Southern California Rapid Transit District bus service and building rail service rather than more highways and freeways in Los Angeles, according to the RTD.
Alan F. Pegg, RTD general manager, said the new study--to be submitted to the district’s Board of Directors on Thursday--shows that employers strongly support public transit in the belief that it will benefit business in the long run.
The study, conducted by Evaluation and Training Institute of Los Angeles, surveyed more than 100 companies in the Los Angeles area.
