Local News in Brief : Winds Fan Brush Fires in Rincon, Ojai Areas
A fast-moving brush fire fanned by hot winds blackened 200 acres of Rincon, causing minor damage to the banana plantation on the Ventura-Santa Barbara County line.
There were no injuries and the cause of Monday’s fire is unknown, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.
On Wednesday, a seven-acre brush fire was contained in the Ojai backcounty along Sespe Creek, causing the U.S. Forest Service to suspend all burning permits in the Santa Barbara County section of the Los Padres National Forest and the Ojai Ranger District, a Forest Service spokeswoman said.
